Making money with faceless YouTube videos can be an incredibly lucrative way to make some extra cash. The best part is you don’t need fancy equipment or tools to start, just something that looks good and is fun to watch.
So What Is A Faceless YouTube Channel?
It’s a channel where the video creator doesn’t appear on camera or in the videos they create. Instead, their content usually consists of videos with animation, voice overs or text-based narrations, and other forms of digital content.
It’s a great way to get creative without having to show your face on camera and still reach an audience with your work.
Popular faceless YouTube channels often use clever storytelling techniques and catchy visuals to engage viewers. There are so many ways you can create this type of channel.
So the most talked about way to make money from this is with ads. We’ll get to this later on.
Check Out These Example Channels
1. Billionaire Bears This channel tells the story of legendary day traders. Check out Day Trading Legend: CIS – The Most Notorious Day Trader in Japan.
While this channel is more along the lines of storytelling you can definitely find stock video footage to help you visualize the idea of day trading. Man typing, stock market tickers, with a bit of your own text based video mixed in.
2. Chill Music Lab I wanted to include this channel as a good example of what you can do within the “relaxing music” channels this make money idea was notorious for. You know lots of water and nature stock video with background music.
This channel is about the correlation between music and productivity.
3. The Infographics Show: I just recently stumbled upon this cool channel. They present facts in a fun and animated way. From their about page: The Infographics Show focuses on making animated motion infographic videos, made in a fun and entertaining way.

A lot of people will tell you this way of making money is dead, especially channels like #2 on the list, and they’re not entirely wrong. You can’t just slap a 10 second stock video with stock music together anymore and think YouTube is going to monetize your channel.
Ads need context in order to show relevant ads against your videos. So the question becomes what advertiser will want to place ads next to a video of a waterfall…?
On the flip side, if you’re creative you can come. up with an idea, maybe a unique way to promote travel or beautiful locations around the world. Then advertisers like Hotels, Air BNBs…would start to make sense. You just have to come up with a way that makes it not look like the video below and your channel might get monetized.
While this video is stunning it’s super plain, and I doubt YouTube is going to monetize it. Get creative, what could you do to make it better?
The Channel is called Piano Relaxing. Maybe you could show people how to play the song by showing music notes over the video. The notes could fade in and out so you can still see the beautiful background video. Maybe add some piano playing tips as text overlays in the bottom corner of the video.
Just a quick thought to get you thinking.

What Do You Need To Get Started?
1. Your Idea, Topic, Niche…
Ok so I won’t bore you and talk about niches and why they are so important (they really are though!) What I will say is along with whatever you want to create, think about what products / services can you match with that content.
This will give you a good idea of the channels ability to be monetized, which is the ultimate goal. You want to be able to make money from your content.
2. Choose A Style You Want Your Videos To Be In
You can start with the visuals, will it be animated, will you have stock video, or are you going to shoot the video yourself. Then you can decide on a style for example are you going to be teaching, telling a story, or will to be in list format…
3. Tools To Help You Create Your Videos
To start, keep it simple!
You want something that you can use right away and at the same time keep you engaged in creating and not breaking keyboards trying to learn new software, which could take a while and discourage you. It happens to all of us.
Here are some video creating services you can ease into:
Canva, yes Canva is everywhere! It’s a great tool to help you create video without having to learn how to be a video editor. You can even start for free.
Invideo is another service that helps you easily create video with some personality. They even have text to video and script writing options.
CreateStudio can help you create animated video. It will be quite simple compared to software like Adobe After Effects but it’s very effective for beginners. You can grab a lifetime deal for only $67, while it lasts.
Remember as you go along and your channel grows you can invest in better video formats but for now I want you to get started!
Of course if you already know how to animate or edit video, use it! It will set you apart and make your videos fun to watch.
That’s it! That’s all you need to get started.
Each option above includes video, text and music, so there’s no need for loads of different software to create a video.
Now let’s get to making money!

I mentioned earlier that advertisers can run ads on your videos.
YouTube requires your channel to have 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours in the last 12 months or 1,000 subscribers with 10 million public Shorts views in the last 90 days before you can be eligible to apply for the for YouTube Partner Program.
Channel Memberships
Subscribers can pay a monthly fee for exclusive members-only perks like badges, emoji, videos and other stuff.
This option also has requirements. You need 1,000 subscribers, your channel is in the YouTube Partner Program, your channel does not have a significant number of ineligible videos plus a few other requirements found here.
Don’t worry, the options below are not tied to YouTube’s channel requirements, they will help you make money while you get your stats up for the YouTube Partner Program.

Simply put, you promote products in exchange for a piece of the profits.
Find products to promote that match the topic of your channel. Be it software, digital downloads, services, or physical products there’s something for every niche.
Sell Your Own Products
Many of creators also offer merchandise such as t-shirts, mugs, stickers, hats and other items with images and quotes from their channel created with a print on demand services or try drop shipping products you think your viewers would like.

Ebooks, printables, templates, artwork…yet another great way to monetize your videos and give something special back to loyal viewers. The best part about digital products is that you only need to create them once, sell forever, and update periodically.
